Dear Waccovians and puppy lovers...

My son's darling 4 month old blue nose pit bull pup, Sega, came down with Parvo on Thursday, the same day he was to have gotten his shot for the same. My son has been taking him to the Affordable Animal Clinic everyday, to the tune of $115 a visit, and devoting himself to treating this precious little being at home. He is now out of money and the vet will not see Sega without cash payment.
If you could see Sega's sad little face your heart would just burst. Is there anyone out there who can provide assistance in saving this beautiful puppy?

Please email me at [email protected] or call 578-2682
Thanks so much...
Maggie

Hi, Sorry to hear your dog is so sick. A puppy should have a parvo shot actually a Distemper, Hepatitis, and Parvo, SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN AT EIGHT WEEKS. Another shot is given two weeks later and two weeks after that. By four months the dog should have been finished with the first three shots. Before the three shots are given the dog should not go anywhere in public. It is very, very rare that a puppy with all it 's shots kept at home would ever get Parvo. Ignorance has caused this problem. If you will look on the internet you can find home treatment for the puppy. Many herbs are very effective for dogs. With a little research you might be able to save the puppy yourself. If not try the humane society may help you. Good luck.

I had three out of six puppies come down with Parvo two years ago, after someone who had been to many other places looking at puppies came by to look at mine, and apparently, had infected fecal matter on their person somewhere. My puppies had had at least one parvo shot, but not all of them yet, and the vet said that there was an overwhelming number of parvo cases in the bay area at that time, even among vaccinated puppies.

I applied for care credit through Pet Care animal hospital, and was approved for $2000.00. Granted, total bill was over $4000.00, but none of the pups died, and I was able to make payments on the balance....

My suggestion is to have your son apply for care credit, the vet should be able to do it in office, and if they do not accept it, find another vet. Forestville vet accepts care credit, as does Pet Care, and many others. Best of luck.
