Just to give you a little background. As some of you may know I had a hip replacement in February, after nearly 2 years of debilitating pain with only some relief when I got vibrational therapy treatments in Marin.

After my surgery I was walking on my own with no pain within 2 weeks. I was amazed at how quickly I recovered. My health providers said it's because I was in good physical shape, after working out weekly with the Super Slow
method at Breakthrough Fitness in Santa Rosa (539-5075). Great trainers,
beautiful facility, and really suits people from 40-90. They're are 2 people there in their 80's and 90's, still working out after years with Breakthrough.

But the reason I'm writing is because I was scheduled for another surgery in October for arthritis in my foot, which created pain with every step. My son, who does neuromuscular therapy told me to ask my doctor to prescribe a cream/jel called Voltaren (Diclofenac). It was expensive, at $45 a tube from Kaiser; it could be more or less depending on your coverage. It's been sold in other countries over the counter for years at $4-5 a tube. We finally have it available to us, but of course at a premium price, but it's worth it. I think it's cheaper in Canada pharmacies.

But the miraculous thing about it is that I had relief from pain within 10 minutes, and it lasted several hours. I use it every 8 hours, and I'm able to
walk up stairs, which I couldn't only 3 weeks ago. I'm able to be on my feet much longer than before, and don't have that awful pain!!!

Also, it bypasses the internal organs, and works directly on the site almost immediately providing relief.

I've cancelled my surgery!!! I may have it at some future time, but right now I don't need it to get relief from the pain. And I would have had to be in a wheelchair for 3 months following surgery. I've shared this cream with
a dozen friends, and each one has experienced wonderful results.

I'm on a mission to relieve pain and suffering, so this is the latest greatest tool I can recommend. It doesn't solve the problem, but it alleviates the pain. I don't know if it would have worked as well with my hip because that was bone on bone, but it might have helped.

As with everything, there are lots of warnings for side effects, but I haven't experienced any of them. Your doctor will need to be aware of other meds you're taking.

Relief might be within your reach. It's worth a try, and if it works for you share the good news with others.

Blessings,

Shandi

Glad to hear of the relief that new prescription is giving you. We e-mailed back and forth about a year ago when you were taking that vibrational therapy and I was sidelined with what I thought was chronic sciatica.

What worked for me was plain old vanilla physical therapy emphasizing core exercises. All the alternative therapies went nowhere - probably becaue I gave them what I thought was the diagnosis and they worked based on that.

It was just chronic lower back muscle spasms from too many years of working non-ergonomically at a desk. The spasms pinched the sciatic nerve and I thought the result was the cause. Now I can play tennis better than ever and improve daily.

I'll keep that new medicine handy just in case - thanks for keeping us informed of your progress.

That makes so much sense, and I'm so glad to hear of your relief.

Today I had the opportunity to help 2 more people. The PGE worker came by, and I happened to be nearby, so we got into a brief conversation about the heat, and she spoke about the pain in her knees, even after having surgery on both of them. I told her about Voltaren, and she said she had an appointment with her doctor today. She had tears of hope in her eyes, and gave me a hug. I told her to call me back, and let me know how it works. I'm trying to track the results, and so far it's been 100%, even with chronic sciatica.

Then out of the blue, a neighbor showed up to see how I've been because my phone service is suspended due to my partner's very late payment. He
was holding his shoulder, and when I asked about it, he said "it's been this way for a long time, so I just live with it." Well, he got a little dab of Voltaren rubbed in that spot. So, I'll ask if it helped at all.

I sure wish it was a multi-level marketing product; I'd be making a few coins here and there. The best reward is to see the amazement from the relief.
Isn't that what we all want in some form or another? Relief from an array of various pressures, pains, and ongoing stress in general, can help so much, to free ourselves from the limitations imposed on us, or created by us.

For me, freedom from pain allows me to be more fully who I am, and to do
what I know I'm here to do. I'm not long suffering....I don't have time for that.

I wonder how many moons I will see before I see no more?

In the Spirit,

Shandi

Not being the devils advocate, but wanted to share this warning from Drugs.com....

What is the most important information I should know about Voltaren?

<!-- start 300 ad --><!-- end 300 ad --> This medicine can increase your risk of life-threatening heart or circulation problems, including heart attack or stroke. This risk will increase the longer you use Voltaren. Do not use this medicine just before or after having heart bypass surgery (also called coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).
Seek emergency medical help if you have symptoms of heart or circulation problems, such as chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, or problems with vision or balance.
This medicine can also increase your risk of serious effects on the stomach or intestines, including bleeding or perforation (forming of a hole). These conditions can be fatal and gastrointestinal effects can occur without warning at any time while you are taking Voltaren. Older adults may have an even greater risk of these serious gastrointestinal side effects.

That's good to know. I encourage everyone to read the warning labels on every medication they take. I bet most people wouldn't take the risks of the side effects mentioned on just about everything. I'd love to hear about some other warnings, like the ones on Warfarin, which is a blood thinner. They were pretty scary, but then a blood clot was too.

I read all the warnings on the label, as I always do, and I'm willing to take the risk, because it's given me back my life, and if I die in the end, which I will anyway, at least I've been able to continue creating the way I'm guided to, free of pain, depression, and immobility. I don't want to live safe from death; I just want to live in a way that allows me to expresse my gifts.

I wonder what the rate of fatality/and serious effects on the stomach or intestines, including bleeding or perforation (forming of a hole). is for the countries that have been using this medicine over the counter for years. And why people are allowed to buy it over the counter for only $4, and here we need the doctor to prescribe and we get to pay 10x more for the same thing. If your or anyone is into research, it would be great to have those statistics in order to make an even more calculated decision, for those people who make decisions based on stats.

Death is all around, lurking in every corner, in every product, in every bite
we take, in every step we make, in every word we say, and every way we
think. It can strike at any moment, without warning, and turn your whole
world upside down.

I would expect the presiding doctor to oversee the meds the person is on, and their general conditon as far as those things you mention. And the first sentence alone would be enough for most people to be afraid, and maybe fear is the best thing in this case.

I would never go forward with anything that I felt fear about. I feel fear about flu shots, the kind that seniors are supposed to get, so I don't get them, and look what I risk by not.

I fear about the injections that are forced on our children. My father never allowed me to get shots at school, because he was mistrustful of the govenment. I guess I was one of the lucky few who grew up with a great, healthy immune system, and only about 5 colds in my 66 years, and a couple of flu episodes, without immunization protection!
Well, I have to admit he did put that stinky cod liver oil in my orange juice. YUK.

I notice that our government and other authorities keep us in fear to keep
us under control. And have done a pretty good job of it with most people.

I have to say that almost every person I talk with on a daily basis has a fear based perspective. I wonder if fear serves their highest selves. I go forth unafraid, and trusting that if I follow my mind and my heart, I will be guided to the best path for me, whether living or dying.

We're either in fear or love. Everything flows from those two emotions. Be ledby fear, and stay safe? Or be led by love, and expand.

Thanks for the warning. I hope everyone takes it to heart, and makes a guided choice, taking full responsibility as with all things they choose, without blame on the product, the company, or their doctor.

Quite a concept in a society where the masses are looking to blame, and not take responsibility. The age of Personal Responsibility is coming, and it will change the world.

Shandi

I want to mention a newsletter that's called "Good pills, Bad pills" or vice versa. It's a monthly 2-4 page newsletter, which I highly recommend.
It talks about combinations, and how serious that can be. I haven't seen it in awhile.

Can anyone recommend any pain killer that doesn't have any side effects?

I think the best medicine comes from nature, and it's CANNABIS for smoking, vaporizing, salves, tinctures, teas, and edibles. Now will
someone please share the negative side effects, so we have fair warning?

I don't mean the side effects that make you feel good, like laughter, uplifted spirits, or relief from depression and suicidal thoughts. I mean the
real "bad" side effects. I really haven't studied it myself, but someone on this board must have. Lets have the stats for those who are guided by those.

Thanks!!

I also researched this med on the web after I read your original post. There is an oral version of Voltaren and a topical version. In the topical kind you get 94% less medication circulating systemically than in the pill version. Therefore it seems to me that heart and G.I. side effects would be a lot less of a problem, though still possible. It makes sense to me that if you're putting the medication into your stomach it would be a lot more likely to cause G.I. upset than if you're rubbing it on your skin.

Thank you for doing that research, and it certainly makes sense. I myself wondered how it would cause stomach problems, especially since it bypasses the internal organs if used topically, Maybe it still would, but as you point out, probably not as much. I'm still hoping someone will provide stats about the use of the topical and the oral version that would show the number of deaths or perforated stomachs, etc.

Statistics must be available somewhere.

I asked my doctor why he didn't prescribe it during the years I was in so much pain. He only did cortisone injections, and after a few of those, they
didn't work at all. I'd been told by one doctor that I could only get them every 4 months, but then he moved on, and I got a new doctor who said I
could get them every 2 months! There is no black and white, even in the medical profession.

His reply was this "Sandy, you are the first person who's experienced this kind of pain relief from a cream. Most people say they don't work at all."
I don't know about that, since all 14 people, at last count, have told me that they had immediate relief from pain from a little dab of cream.

I have used up, about an 1/8 of my tube sharing with others. And people are now calling me to get samples. I wonder if the company provides the doctors with samples. I may contact the mfg. to see if that can be arranged. After all, it sells over the counter in many countries for $4.
If you have any friends living outside the country, you might want to ask them to get some for you. I'm going to do that, so I have a good supply
for my own needs.

I guess that even when people get relief from things like this, they don't talk about it as much as I have. But it's like a miracle to see the expressions of people who have experienced the pain relief. Or that they tell me "Oh, I forgot to take my pain meds, because I didn't have any pain!"

I believe in sharing good news, and getting relief from pain can allow a body and spirit to evolve up the spiral.

Shandi

i have a prescription & talk to other patients at the dispensary. some of them do take marijuana for arthritis, and it works.

as far as safety, an administrative law judge, i think working for the FDA, i think named Francis Young, referred to cannabis as the "safest therapeutically active substance known to mankind" in one ruling maybe 30 years ago.

of course, it's possible that he was bribed by the marijuana growers, the same way there's a revolving door between the FDA & the pharmaceutical companies & company lobbyists ... but i don't think so.

i've seen marijuana have side effects, like make people faint & in one case send a diabetic patient to the hospital.

marijuana is more of a group of drugs. some of the components bind with neuro-receptors in the body. some bind more with neuro-receptors in the head.

antineoplastic properties cannabis - Google Search (https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=antineoplastic+properties+cannabis)

there is a paper done at a college in Virginia in the 1970's where they found that marijuana was actually a cure for some forms of cancer that are caused by carcinogens. there is a paper entitled "antineoplastic properties of cannabis", that is approx. the name of the paper that was published. i have seen a photocopy of the paper, which was expunged from American medical school literature in 1983, but can still be found in Canadian and European medical schools.

that study was repeated in the last 10 years in Spain and that work is known as the "Madrid Study". again, they made the same observation.

My doctor prescribed the once a day pill version of voltaren for my shoulder pain and it worked well and quickly, but then I got chest pains and had to stop taking it... maybe I will ask him about the cream version.
