View Full Version : Low cost pet care for stray?

A beautiful little six toed cat has been hanging around my place.
For a long time I chased her away, since I already have two cats,
but she has continued to show up for several months now.

I haven't fed her until recently when I noticed a tumor of some
sort on her shoulder. It looks like a big bubble, over an inch wide
and high. Now, after a few days, she's limping.

My heart goes out to her, and I can't stand to see her suffering.
I picked her up and she cried like she was hurting.

I've asked my neighbors, and one told me that she's already had
3 litters, and she is just a young cat, but I guess she must be
over a year if she's had 3 litters?

Anyway, I'm wanting to get some help for her. I had read
somewhere that there's low cost vet services for low income
seniors with pets, but I can't remember where it was.

Can anyone help me out on this?

Thanks so much,

Shandi

Forgotten Felines will spay her for $30, or at least that's what it used to be, and that includes vacinations. Call Animal Control, the county, to see if vouchers are still available for low income people which will make it even cheaper. It sounds like she has an abcess rather than a tumour. These can be deadly. La Plaze Vet Clinic in Cotati is the least expensive vet that I know of & he does a decent job. Call me if you can't find the help you need. She should get to a vet soon as possible, not in the middle of the night, but tomorrow would be good. Barrie 544-1893
