Can someone explain to me how a person with an assault rifle can be allowed to attend a presidential health care rally? Where is the secret service? What is going on??

Can anyone explain how any government, including the United States, can be trusted with nuclear weapons? What makes governments better than people?

Though the press lately has been giving people the impression that guns are illegal, they're not, and there are states that allow "open carry" (the right to carry unconcealed weapons).

In some of these states, citizens are active in getting the people (and the police) to be aware that the citizenry has this right. From what I've seen, these people are peaceful and intelligent, and are not "right-wing extremists" as vilified by the media.

Our founding fathers had listed the Bill of Rights in order of importance, and the right to bear arms was #2 on the list, after freedom of speech. I had always been anti-gun. I've lived in countries that banned guns, and there were less gun-related crimes. It was simple math in my opinion. But this is where our founding fathers were so smart, much smarter than I. They understood that the problems which might arise from an armed citizenry would be nothing compared to the problems that could arise from an unarmed citizenry (link (https://anonym.to/?https://www.newswithviews.com/Ohara/debbie22.htm)).

But there are other reasons which changed my view. Australia recently banned firearms, and guess what happened? Crime went up. The same thing occurred in the UK. Criminals won't turn in their guns, and the criminals know their victims will be unarmed and unable to defend themselves.

I do fear though that at some point the powers-that-be who wish to have us unarmed might use an agent provocateur, and their control of the corporate media, to shape public opinion against our right to defend ourselves.

I'll post a few videos on the open carry movement which you might find interesting. One thing I've noticed is how respectful the police are to citizens with guns (have you seen the videos of what they've been doing to unarmed citizens?). I would think that in a state with open carry, criminals would be much more reluctant to use a gun on anyone. I personally would rather be able to protect myself and my family in a life/death situation rather than to have to rely on the police. In fact, I don't think I would ever want to call the new police for any help. They really are a whole new breed.

This was outside the building where Obama held the health care meeting in a state that doesn't require a license for open carry.
