Hi,

We are looking for an unusually difficult to find match -- a
farm-friendly family dog.

Depending on distance, we are open to a trial stay to find out if the
dog does well with the animals that the dog's present home is not
certain about.

We are a young couple looking for a dog to love and give a wonderful
home and life to. This dog would VERY rarely be without us, and never alone.

He will be our only pet. We are experienced dog owners, but this will
be the first dog we have had together.

We are open to an outdoor and/or indoor dog.

We would like an adult dog that is relatively calm.

This dog will need to do well with:

No fence
Young children
Chickens and goats
Outside cats
Outside visitor dogs

Thank you so much for any help.

Greetings,
If I could make a recommendation, I would say to look for an Autralian Shepherd. They are not roamers, and like to keep an eye on their humans, so usuallly there is no need for fences. They are also genetically predisposed to looking after animals rather than harming them (this goes for kids too), and they are SMART, so relatively easy to train. They are ideal farm dogs because they love to have a job to do, and there is always plenty of work to do on a farm!

Also, I would highly recommend visiting local shelters and rescue organizations. There are literally hundreds of great dogs in this area alone that just need a second chance. The Milo Foundation often has working dogs breeds.
