How to sustain a community without incident… I have thought about this long and hard, rebel against our own government that is draining us dry, they’re increased salaries are truly the downfall of our nation plain and simple, we as people cannot keep up, they can eat while we starve. Who among us needs a government job up over a hundred grand a year, yet we have millions taking advantage of this opportunity and then they whine about not receive their annual raise each and every year. How can we afford to keep this up? We are paying out more is government salaries alone than the national debt. Our own head of Sonoma county was be paid a quarter of a million dollars a year to do what? Why? Why is someone working in government worth this much? Really I really want to know.
Sustain a community by placing in order a system that does not balk at inflation, refuse to buy from outsiders that want more money, do without unless they learn to play ball, let it catch on, who cares if they do not want to do business with us we have enough resources to sustain ourselves plain and simple.
Put a cap on what can and will be paid out to our government officials in our own sustainable communities. A hundred grand a year, watch our government fall in line and really become a real kinder gentler fascist system again, not being owned by the politicians, but by the people, ok that last part was a little harsh but you get the jest of what
IO am saying. Take away the need to steal sooo much money they cannot carry anymore and give he government back to the people that really just want to work and live in peace for god sakes.
If we have 30 million people making a hundred thousand dollars more a year than they really need or deserve how much money is that? That is three trillion dollars folk come on!!! WE need to revolt plain and simple and that is that.
What you all think about this?
So as the fourth approaches, an old thought comes to mind. " Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing!" ... I think freedom has become more the kind of freedom to choose your supermarkets, It would be interesting to redefine freedom just to see how many of us are free and what would the powers that be do if we declared and celebrated our independence? How many people now actually love their freedom...how many people actually are free? What does that word mean today?

How can one "revolt" while maintaining community without incident? Does not revolting assume another and then there is that other meaning for revolting to confuse or clarify...... How should the little self sustaining regions be decided? initial response to the mykl posting at advanced hour...

At first reading "assume another" and "little self" jumped out at me.. If what appears as revolt on one level actually does not assume another, then even if there is incident maybe it's just a matter of not maintaining the status quo.
I'm probably a bit asocial compared to most, but it seems to me if there is going to be a view that does not assume another and we're actually to work on that then the everyday personal concerns that take up so much of our energy might be put on the back burner or at least placed into this larger context of we rather than be the primary preoccupation. And of course that's not just bourgeois Marinites, even if they are probably more engrossed in it.

well, if we're going to have a proper Revolt, it might as well be led by "a really cute guy."
