Where can I find wheat & gluten free bread & pasta?
I tried Oliver's and other places but it is difficult to find these products. My diet restricts me from eating foods with wheat or gluten.
Thank you,
Edward
Andy's on 116 has an entire rank of shelves stocked with gluten-free products. In their freezer section you can find at least three Food for Life brand Gluten-Free Breads (rice almond, rice, rice pecan). Trader Joe's also stocks Food for Life Gluten-Free Rice Bread, and many other products (though not all shelved together as at Andy's). T.J.'s also provides a free brochre listing all their gluten-free products. Good luck!

Eduardo,
Have you tried Community Market? I was just there a couple of days ago and recall seeing "Gluten Free" prominently displayed on a sign.
Bon Appetit!

Trader Joe's carries brown rice pastas that are very good.
Village Bakery (Healdsburg Avenue) makes wheat free, gluten free bread a couple of times a week.
At Pasta Bella, they will substitute rice pasta in most of their pasta dishes.

Trader Joe's has rice pasta and the Food for Life Rice Bread for $3.99 a loaf. Best price I've seen.
Mary's has a gluten free pizza and Mangiamo's in Windsor also has a complete gluten free menu with pasta and pizza.
There is a great local website for those of us with Celiac Disease, NorthBayCeliacs.org.
When I'm in Oakland there is a Bakery called The Mariposa Cafe that has gluten free pastry to die for. Bagels, coffee cake, muffins, bread, biscotti, and the occasional donut. They've mastered the art of baking without wheat.

Honestly, Oliver's does have rice bread as well as rice noodles in different shapes. So does Community Market. It also has corn and rice pizza crust. My friend is also in the process of creating, on a larger scale, these amazing rice tortillas. She has celiac's disease so she is very particular. I'll post again when her business is up and running.

Andy's, Whole Foods, Fiesta, even G & G have gluten free products. I would be concerned about Village Bakery unless they are made in a wheat-free environment.
The BEST gluten-free/wheat free products I've tasted are from Grindstone Bakery. A bit costly but they are hand-made with loving attention and last a long time. Mostly organic or all, I am not sure. Good cookies, too.
