My friend Kelly has end stage liver disease, and is on transplant list.
She will need to come up with as much as $10,000.00 to cover flight, housing,
and basic necessities while she awaits her transplant. It's an on call situation, so she needs to be fully prepared for the day that call comes.
I have no idea how to set up an account for her which clearly states the purpose of money received is for transplant related needs only,
so it will not interfere with her disability income.
I've noticed (a few times on this list), people coming to the aid of a person in need and the establishing such an account.
Can someone please explain that process to me, so I can get started on a series of fund raisers for my friend ?
Thanks for whatever help you can give me here.

A few years ago, a friend of mine worked for a non-profit organization based in Sacramento called something like "Mercy Flight." He job was to arrange air transportation for people with medical needs, who couldn't afford to pay. The air service was provided by private pilots all over the USA. See if you can locate that organization. Sorry, I can't do any "legwork." All I can do is just tell you about this. Good luck.

Check out Angel Flight West (Angel Flight West (https://www.angelflightwest.org/)). I know someone back East who used this service (the east coast version) when he needed to get to a different area of the country for a transplant and couldn't afford it. Good luck to your friend!
