My hard drive is filling up so I recently checked the list of cookies on my computer, and noticed a large number from Waccobb.net. Is it possible that everytime I log in to the bulletin board, that I get cookies downloaded onto my harddrive? Is this really necessary?

Please explain exactly what you are looking and how your got there.

To my understanding, WaccoBB.net only uses a handful of cookies, which are used to store information between sessions, such as your username and password, which use hardly any space at all.

OTOH, a standard technique of browsers is to "cache" various information and graphics from the websites you visit. There are controls in each browser to limit and/or delete this stored information. It's quite possible that the browser has caches various images from WaccoBB.net to help the page load faster, just like any other website. Someplace in your browser there should be a setting to limit the size of "temporary internet files" that are saved.

I cleared the Waccobb.net cookies from my browser (Safari) about an hour ago, and now I see that there are 41 cookies from Waccobb.net back on the list. Most appear to be duplicates of:
www.waccobb.net OAID
www.waccobb.net _OASZCAP[12]
www.waccobb.net OAZBLOCK
www.waccobb.net OASZCAP

I realize that these are not filling up my harddisk, but I have been told that a large number of cookies can slow the speed of one's browser.
