I'm way, way behind on my email so I am forwarding a post sent to me in light of some of the discussion happening on this list. I think the author paints with a brush just a bit too broad, but the alarm is justified considering recent events. It is historical that in hard times more people look for someone to blame, hate, and kill.
Just heard on the radio that a neo Nazi group in Kansas adopted a piece of highway to keep clean complete with the sign giving them credit. The state let them do it and then named that stretch of highway after a prominent Jewish activist.

People,
Looks like the recent DHS report (https://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/04/14/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry4944701.shtml) warning of violent right-wing domestic terrorism committed by far-right conservatives was spot-on, despite the disingenuous, reflexive rantings of conservative commentators (https://michellemalkin.com/2009/04/14/confirme-the-obama-dhs-hit-job-on-conservatives-is-real/) that this was all just a "liberal plot" to smear conservatives.
In fact, the warnings contained in the report seem more prescient with each passing day, as killings by conservative terrorists continues to increase at an alarming rate, especially in recent weeks.
The tragic story of 9-year-old Brisenia Flores and her family, the latest victims of brutal, murderous right-wing vigilantees:

An outspoken anti-immigration activist who was at the center of a series of violent crimes in Everett earlier this year now stands accused of the home-invasion killings of an Arizona man and his 9-year-old daughter.
Shawna Forde, 41, and two associates in her Minuteman American Defense group are charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree burglary and one count of aggravated assault, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department in Arizona.
The May 30 killings were believed to be premeditated and part of a plan to steal money and drugs to finance the Minuteman group she leads. Forde's own family said that the woman weeks ago had discussed using robberies to raise money for her cause.
Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik told the Green Valley News and Sun that Forde was trying right up until her arrest Friday "to get together a large amount of money to further sophisticate the type of operation she's interested in."

I wonder why this story, a clear and harsh indictment of the American far right, has hardly been noticed in the "left wing" mainstream media?
The answer is obvious: the "left wing media" is a myth. Mainstream media outlets are entirely owned by a few giant corporations and operated by conservatives, not liberals (who naturally allow conservative and reactionary commentators to dominate airtime on both radio and television, today; anyone who watches TV, listens to talk radio, and can count knows this).
Do violent video games and pornographic images lead to violent or sexually exploitative behavior? If one believes this is so, then one must admit it likewise follows that the right-wing extremist rhetoric soiling America's mainstream media is clearly contributing to the recent exponential upsurge in violent domestic terrorism.
That leaves the internet. Hopefully, we can utilize it to publicize and turn back the quickly rising tide of violent right-wing sentiment and conservative domestic terrorism of the kind that took the lives of Brisenia and her father just days ago.
Thank you.
Pass it on.
