Someone accessed my e-mail address book at hotmail and sent spam to everyone- a grammatically erroneous plug for electronica out of the UK. My account, which I have used for ten years, has been closed and access has been denied me. I find myself unable, technically challenged/frustrated, to find the way to re-establish account. I have used their interface for questions and found there is no way to phone a human and sent what I think appropriate questions. Help from here would be appreciated. I apologize to those on my list from here who have been recently annoyed with the spam. Help...........

Unfortunately, there's just about nothing you can do. They block thousands of spammers a day. This isn't your fault, but it's not possible for them to weigh the validity of your complaint.

The only way you can protect yourself in this sort of situation is to have your contacts and saved emails backed up so you can import them into a new account.
