Do you remember the first day you gave me a mirror? I do!
Well…I just remembered – ‘twas a faint memory long forgotten.

But, I remember that day you gave me the mirror.
I smiled. I thanked you and politely put it away.
Not truly acknowledging what you had given me.
I ended up losing that mirror.

Many times later you gave me one mirror right after another.
I smashed them…I shoved them back at you…and even cursed you for trying to give me yet another mirror.
For then, I didn’t allow myself to see my reflection.

As years went on, your mirrors chased me –
And I dodged it at every corner to avoid looking into it.
Fearful to gaze upon what I might see.

Then one day, I turned around.
I boldly stood in front of the mirror that pursued me…
Naked…vulnerable…
And I LOVED what I saw - beauty, love, light…

I only have you to thank. Thank you for all of your mirrors!

This reflection that has been chasing you down, it has been traveling at this speed of light, truly you have know for a while it has been moving inbound. This in itself is quite a sight, yet you were moving faster than this gleaming light? WoW…

Now that your reflection has slowed and you are turning this page, don’t let yourself get caught in this radical little cage. I am thinking your reflection shall turn and run, try to keep up because this is just way part of the fun!
The dance you and you reflection shall do till death do you part, reincarnate and have a fresh start. You see you are everything to this reflection of yours, your reflection knows you have all that cures.
This little game you two play must be one hell of a lot of truth and dare, so do take care stay safe happy and sane, remember to never cause anyone any pain.
I love to watch you tow around town, I see your reflection and sometimes know when it can’t find you, this brings it down, so in my opinion I think it was time you slowed, stopped took a peek and watched what it showed. I wonder if you two shall ever get to meet become one and decide on a certain flavor or treat. Take better care of you reflection, because it is truly yours alone. WE are the reflection of all we shall do, is it me or is it you?
If you have to wonder today if you are the ying or yang, you might want to go out chill out with your reflection for awhile and just hang.
If you can see your reflection waning or waxing so close with the moon, spent the night with your reflection and see where you both reflect in the early afternoon.
To prove to yourself your reflection is truly near and dear, just check out the bright light shingling down on this enormous big blue sphere.
Somewhere somehow on the other side, there is your reflection looking towards you wondering about its silly foolish pride. IF you both just realize you are not suppose to worry about who shall win, your life as you both know shall know it might just begin!
Keeping in mind your reflection is for you and you alone, not really for anyone else to own, maybe treat it as if it were a next of kin or your one and only clone.
If you run and it chases you this can only be so cool, when it turns and runs, it’s your turn to follow for if you do not then you are just a plain simple fool. You are both meant share your one and only throne, so stay in touch with each other in this everlasting zone.
Why ask who is going to be in charge, who is who, or who shall be her leader in your shared realm of an entertaining existence or what might have been?, just sit and celebrate life with your reflection and forget the underlying presence of your almighty twin.

what mykil wrote here is beautiful, almost intimidating to follow..however, this topic fascinates and perplexes me.

the following is general pondering, and not intended to poke or provoke.

While I appreciate learning from mirrors (& projections), I feel that I either need to discover the 'reflection' myself (isn't that why it's called a reflection) rather than feel like a mirror is being shoved into my face by others (which has occurred offline, and I believe to have witnessed a bit online as well).

What does that say about the person holding that mirror, I wonder? and isn't there a way to teach others through example (by being the reflection) rather than trying to BE the mirror?

I have reflected on the meaning of this for myself, and I'm more interested in people's ideas/views about the concept rather than turning the attention onto myself (for now).:heart:
