I need a new printer cartridge and am weighing the pros and cons of ordering it online or buying it locally.

Office Depot carries it. I can get it for about $12 less if I buy it online.

Of course, cost isn't the only issue. Local people who work at Office Depot wouldn't have a job if no one shopped there. Other pieces I"m looking for:
- Does anyone know if Office Depot pays taxes that benefit the local economy, or is all that money lost to us?
- Is it terribly risky to use a credit card to shop online?

I guess this is the bottom line: Does anyone know any LOCAL business or individual that sells printer cartridges?

Hi Treasure,

First you have to define what is "local" to you. Sebastopol? Santa Rosa?

I would suggest you go one step further and have your cartridge refilled locally. There are drop off places in downtown Sebastopol (Whole Foods?) where a local business, run by Waccovians, called Rapid Refill, will pick up your cartridge, refill it, and have it back to quikly.

I can use rapid refill in Cotati at Oliver's. Give them a call and find out a close drop off near you. (RAPID REFILL)
