There was a thread a few weeks back about the census. I just finished training, so I wanted to post an update.
The census is currently in the process of udating maps and addresses for the 2010 census. The goal is to have an enumerator/lister physicallly visit every structure where someone is living. This is a tricky area with long driveways, gates, dogs and lots of unzoned cottages. Your cooperation and a smile will be greatly appreciated. The mapping only takes a minute and the information is for statistical purposes only. It is very important that everyone is counted, because those numbers are used when determining representation, and funding for roads, schools, police etc.
The lister will knock on your door to identify themselves, and ask if there are any other living quarters on the property. That is all we need at this point.
You are required to allow the lister on to your property, so it is best to keep it simple.
