I'm looking for a groomer for my sweet Australian Shepard. Nothing fancy, just a bath and a trim. I've had some bad experiences the last couple of times I've taken her in to be groomed. One place handled her very roughly, which I found unecessary. The other overly groomed and styled her. Not only did she have a ridiculous haircut, but they tried to charge me more than the quoted price becasue of the extra styling. Not ok. Any tips on someone nice, reasonalbly priced, and local who can help us out?

Stephanie at the Humane Society does a great job on our pup. The cost seems very fair; you're required to be a member, but it's a good organization to support anyhow. Seems like she's usually booked up for quite a while, but maybe has a waiting list for cancellations. My wife and dog are extremely picky and wouldn't go anywhere else.

You might try Little Friends Pet Hotel on the right side of Gravenstein Highway as you approach Rt. 101. Margaret does a good job and is reasonable. Her number is 795-6126.

Forestville veterinary hospital does bathing and nail clipping and anal gland expression if needed. Their prices were based on the weight of the dog....my 24lber was $29.95. The woman who actually did the care was Rhonda and she was caring and capable. Had great difficulty finding a traditional groomer in the area, seemingly all booked up and not accepting new clients etc. There is a pet store behind taco bell on piner, Animal Farm, where for $13 I was able to wash own dog. The shampoo was quite dilute, the place was adequate and reasonable.

Marcia at Classy Lassie in Santa Rosa is great. She is very reasonable and does a great job. I tried lots of places and this is the best job for the price that I have found. My dog almost likes going there which is miraculous!

Tell her Marty sent you. 528-7532
