Travel in Central Mexico

Can anyone advise me on travel in Central Mexico: DF, Cuernavaca, Guanajuato, Tazco, etc. I'm putting together a two week trip for my family in late June and can use any recommendations for bus travel between towns,
pyramids, and other sites to see. We will probably base ourselves in
Cuernavaca and take day trips from there.

Guaymas is really nice. i stayed at the Club Med there once, there's an island about a quarter mile from the mainland, swimmable distance, nice warm water skin diving.
