Why do I have to refute them. They are a lobbyist group that uses scare tactics to make points and get money from the public. Personally, I dont value information from a source that has a financial stake in proving a point. Again, its not like Im for drunk driving, but I like my info from sources that actually try to be unbiased. MADD doesnt even pretend to be unbiased.

Only Braggi and Barry and bodegahead have publicly admitted that they smoke(d) pot and they support your position. So the only logical conclusion is that YOU are a pothead, not that EVERYBODY smokes weed on Wacco.

Another observation I'd like to make is that when an original thread topic digresses as much as this one has (MADD, etc) , sometimes a list moderator will break it off into a new thread. But these digressions don't have merit because they are worthless quibbles from the detractors who support Nazi style tactics in law enforcement. I believe that the best thing to do here is to ignore the pointless and wasteful digression and get back on topic. Digressing ad nauseam is a common way to sabotage and kill a good debate like this one.
This said, I found Godwin's Law fascinating. Today is the first day I ever heard of it. I have made many allusions to the Nazis and Hitler in my debates here on the list. I will be more conscientious about this in the future and if I feel an important need to use the Nazi analogy again then I will do so by giving a clear historical reference as to why the comparison is valid.

To answer your first question about other special interest groups fighting for health issues. No, I dont trust them. Think about how many stupid breast cancer societies that exist. Not one of them even speaks about prevention! None of them make any headway what so ever. While primitive societies knew how to prevent cancer and anyone who does any real research can figure it out. There has been significant discussion of Trolls and Trolling on waccobb over the last few years. Just do a search. I don't want to address the entire subject here.
I just wasted about ten minutes doing a search for this specific topic, "How to Spot... etc.", but to no avail. I swear I've weighed in on it in the past, but can't find my previous post.
Sooo, here's how:
Check their Public Profile.
Is it devoid of identifying information?
If so, you've got a real good suspect.
Do they act like a Troll (https://www.flayme.com/troll/)?
