Verbal Chowder - Friend or Foe?

Looking through the responses to my own and other members postings on WaccoBB I've noticed that many people insist on interjecting their own political and moral views in completely irrelevant and unnecessary ways. I believe that everyone is entitled to their opinions and hold no judgment upon the content of these interjections. However, I do feel that it would be more helpful to the posters if these kind of responses were avoided. It's off topic, annoying and sometimes down right rude. Let's stay focused on the true nature and intent of our fellow Wacco's postings. Doing so will promote peace and education while taking a huge load off of Barry's servers and scripts.

I have a great example of this. Recently I made a post in the pets and critters section asking a simple question about what the local leash laws were in Sonoma County, as I will be moving back to the area with my new dog who had never been on a leash before. Lo and behold I was jumped by a few members who commanded me to never ever let my dog of her leash, and went on to explain what a terrible thing it is to have a dog off their leash, and what an irresponislbe person I am for even hinting at wanting to let my dog run free. I dont know why these people even thought I would let my dog off the leash, since I was asking about the laws so I could make sure I follow them! It was really obnoxious, and downright rude. I only received one private email about the leash laws and designated areas where I could take my dog off leash. Everyone else's posts were just noise from the preacher and had nothing to do with what I had asked.

But hey, that's what I get for posting on wacco. I also made a post before about being scared to post here, mainly for this reason alone. I guess people on this forum are just too conscious to give a straight forward answer without the blissful (ie: ignorant) BS.
