if you've ever had the feeling that government statistics mis-stated true economic numbers, there is a website you will probably like
Shadow Government Statistics - Home Page (https://www.shadowstats.com/)
it's run by a guy named John Williams, who in every audio & print interview i've witnessed of him always backed up his statements very credibly. much more credibly than the Bush finance appointees & most CNBC journalists.
there is an audio interview with him at Jim Puplava's website,
Financial Sense Newshour with Jim Puplava (https://www.financialsense.com/fsn/main.html)
the links on that page change week by week, it is a summary of their Saturday broadcast. the recent interview with John Williams is in the audio @
https://www.netcastdaily.com/broadcast/fsn2009-0314-2.mp3
he doesn't just state "unemployment is at 19%", he is knowledgeable about the various methods used by the US government to measure unemployment over the years, and especially how they "cook the books" to make the numbers look better.
