A young couple found them and kept them overnight. Late this morning they returned to where they found them and started knocking on doors. The first home they knocked on handed them a flyer. They are safe and sound.

Forwarding for a friend:

My son left the gate open yesterday afternoon (2/20) around 5:30pm. My two 4 month old English Setter girls, Claire and Phoebe, are still missing. Lost in west Santa Rosa CA near Stony Point Road and West Third. Claire is very open marked orange (white with orange patches and ticking), Phoebe is a dark blue (gray with white ticking). No collars, no microchips.

Deborah, frantic and have been up all night putting up flyers

I am very grateful you found your dogs! Now get them collars with ID tags and get them microchipped.

I agree completely with Barrie. You were VERY, VERY LUCKY this time but chances of it happening like this again, are slim to none.

They were NOT my dogs... I was posting for a friend and yes, she does realize how lucky she is, believe me. She has never had a dog/puppy get loose out of her yard before and she has taken steps (padlocks) so that none of the gates can be opened without her knowledge. She always micro-chips her dogs, she was just waiting for them to get a little older.
