Are these people living in the same century as most Sebastopolians? Here's one of the Right Wing's most-read pundits, explaining how we Americans are going to ignore efficient-city models, and will prefer to stick with our 4,000 square foot McMansions, somewheres out in the "country".

From the New York Times (02/17/09)

I Dream of Denver (https://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/17/opinion/17brooks.html?ref=opinion)

By David Brooks

Excerpt:

"Americans still want to move outward. City dwellers are least happy with where they live, and cities are one of the least popular places to live. Only 52 percent of urbanites rate their communities “excellent” or “very good,” compared with 68 percent of suburbanites and 71 percent of the people who live in rural America."

Questions: When was the Pew study done? And, what comprised a "city" in the study? Was it the 17th-20th century NYC model of urban blight? Or did it include examples of models for future city core redevelopment. I'm thinking that it was the former.
