City unveils grand plan to install Lunar Panels:urgtgslpy:
The Board of Supervisors of the City of Sebastopol, always on the cutting edge of green technology, has just announced the future plans of Sebastopol to install Lunar Panels on all city buildings and on top of that little gazebo like structure in the town square.
Public input on mounting these so called “Lunar Panels” on city buildings raised the question of the displacement of already installed solar panels. When confronted with this, one city supervisor stated: “Well, we will just put them on that little gazebo like structure, or whatever that thing in the town square is… Oh and maybe on top of the O’Reilly Campus and possibly the Taco Bell.”
While conventionally produced solar cells convert up to 20% of the energy falling on them, the simulated lunar panels were only 1% efficient. When asked about this inefficiency, and whether it was a wise move to invest millions of dollars into an uncertain technology, a prominent city official stated; “The citizens of Sebastopol have always been up for spending money on stuff that might fall through, jeeze, just look at the last few years, people!”
Why Go Lunar?
The city of Sebastopol has been first among the nation in so many other arenas, such as Green Party Politics, Anti-nuclear policies, Organic Foods, and other progressive agendas. So jumping on the Lunar Power “bandwagon” is an easy choice to make for West County folks. That, as well as the fact that a lot of people will make bank on this project, creates a win-win situation for all of us!
The Future of Lunar Power is here!
We asked Professor Cosmo Planetoidz – Dean of the Astrology, Astronomy, and Jazzercise Departments at Grendel Gravenstein’s to illuminate us upon the pros and cons of Lunar Power;
“We all know that the moon has power and influence over us – why, just look at grunions or werewolves. But harness the power of the moon? The uneducated might say – ‘Why Bother?’ But dig a tad deeper, and you will see many reasons to do so. First of all, it’s basically recycling; I mean it is double recycling… it’s the sunrays bouncing off of the moon. Bing – bing! And heaven knows we are all about recycling here in Sebastopol”.
“Secondly, I believe vehemently that Lunar Panels will look pretty on top of that gazebo - or whatever that little structure is in the town square”.
“Plus, it has that ambiguous metaphysical connotation that makes me think, ‘Oh Yeah…Sebastopol’. I mean it just screams West County Hippy, which is mostly a pretty cool thing”.
“And lastly is that if we, a progressive community, are unwilling to seek out and explore all the alternatives, then no one else is going to invest in the exploration of new, clean alternative energy sources. And sadly, until our government and our people change their lifestyles and our energy needs, and we realize what is important and crucial to the survival of our Mother Earth were are in a heap of doo doo”.
The Lunar Panel Project is underway!
