Loved the prank call, thanks for sharing. I'm going to avoid the Metacafe site though - a viewer has to wait through a video commercial before hearing/viewing the offering. Since I'm limited on megabytes transferred daily, I hate having to pay to view anyone's commercials.

It's almost like the advertiser (nameless) pwns anyone who takes the time to view their ad. Who's being pranked again?

For an adless version of the prank call, try:

My current despised telemarketer is the one(s) who make robocalls to my work cell (which I tend to grab and answer, since it might be an emegency) saying, "This is the second warning. Your vehicle warranty is about to expire." They have no mercy about when they call either.

At first, since they specifically mentioned a truck, which I'd recently purchased from Ford, I thought it was Ford or the dealership. My next visit there, I started to rip them a new ******, only to be told that they're receiving the same call, on the dealership phone lines!

i have a "telemarketer reminder" sign next to the phone.

when i pick up the phone, i try not to say my name. i try to say, "who may i say is calling ?"

then i explain that i'm just there to help around the house, but that i'll go get the person they're looking for - after i put the phone down.

15 minutes later, i come back & hang the phone up.

i do not understand how anybody makes money from telemarketing.

I'm getting that one a lot! And on my skype number!

I finally took a chance and listened to the end of the call. It says if you press "2" your "file will be closed" and they won't call back anymore. Try it.

First, I'm on the "Do Not Call List" but was getting the robo calls anyway; most annoying when I was in town, and checking my messages with the cell, since I had to pay for those minutes in order to get to any "real" messages.

Finally, I got one when I was at home; I just waited to talk to the real telemarketer; I asked what the name of his company was, and then said "I'm on the "Do Not Call List" and if I get another of these calls, I will report your company." I haven't gotten another one.

Ooo! Thanks for the reminder! I didn't think to register my new skype number!

I neglected to say in my first post that I had tried pushing "2" to be "taken off the list" several times, and it didn't work; I was still getting the calls. Then I pushed the number to talk to the live person, and said I'd report them. That did work.
