Wikipedia:

The Cramps were an American garage punk (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garage_punk) band formed in 1973. Their line-up rotated much over their existence, with the husband and wife duo of lead singer Lux Interior (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lux_Interior) and lead guitarist Poison Ivy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison_Ivy_%28musician%29) as the only permanent members. They were part of the early CBGB (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBGB#1970s) punk movement (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punk_movement) that had emerged in New York. By being the first known band to blend punk rock (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punk_rock) with rockabilly (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockabilly), The Cramps are widely recognized as innovators of psychobilly (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychobilly), as well as garage punk.
Lux Interior (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lux_Interior) died at Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale, California (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glendale,_California) of a pre-existing condition on February 4, 2009.
