I wanted to share with you a tutorial in regards to received emails from your friends and the people that you get forwards from…and I hope you do this for the messages, that are from me, you are forwarding on:
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

1. After you read a message and you decide you want to forward it go ahead and hit the “Forward” button.

2. A new screen comes up for you to put the addresses in ~go ahead and put the names you are sending it to in the “To” box…

3. IMPORTANT: GO TO THE BODY OF THE MESSAGE AND HIGHLIGHT AND DELETE ALL OF THE ADDRESSES IN THE BODY.

4. Type in what you wanted to say; what your message is…

5. Send message.

This way no anyone’s can use the addresses for undue purposes…

Thanks Lorrie,

I've been doing it for years, pretty much since I started email in the early nineties. (Yeah, I know, I was late to the party!)

But I constantly see people, friends of mine, who should know better, doing it all the time.

It's basic netiquette, and a good reminder.

Now, if we could only get everyone to post events with sufficient advance notice...

There might be hope for the human race?!

I would also like to add another tutorial on this subject. When either forwarding or composing a new email, rather than insert names/addresses in the SEND field, insert them in the BCC field instead (Blind Carbon Copy). You may have to click on it to make it appear...then insert the addreses there. Instead of all the people you are sending it to showing up, only the recipient's name will arrive. It will go out to everyone, but they will only see their name.

Best wishes, and happy emailing!
