My report on the Academy of Sciences:
Just got home from the Academy of Science. Great thing to do on a drizzly day. The building is amazing. It’s the second time I’ve been; I’m still in awe of the huge, curving spaces and brilliant light. I love the native plant turf roof. I can’t wait to see it in the spring. The coral, fish and other fascinating critters are presented beautifully. My favorites were the Sea Dragons...the best word to describe them is 'hallucinatory'.
The planetarium show rocks! Be sure and get your tickets for that when you arrive.
Anyone know anything about the roof leaking?? I wish I'd asked someone before we left. The solarium area with tables and chairs was soaked by the time we left. $500, 000 million and the roof leaks!
It’s a little pricey, I guess, with parking ($17.50), gas, bridge toll (and requisite Thai dinner)…but a very entertaining day out!
