Wanted: Mille Fleur Hens

While at W. Farm recently noticed a young little mille fleur rooster who looked pretty sickly... so I brought him home. Well, he's doing beautifully, sweet as can be, but he is generally ignored by our big Americana chickens so hangs out alone a lot. We have 3 acres, my other half makes the 'cluckingham palaces' (amazing chicken coops) so our chickens are well cared for...they are let out everyday to do their chicken thing and locked up securely at night. Our little rooster though needs a couple of admiring girls that will make him the center of their world. I cannot find mille fleurs anywhere. Do you have any or know of someone who does?

Hello Maude,
I used to have Mille Fleurs, 2 hens and a rooster like you hope for. I found a farmer with chicks through the Farm Trails brochure. They have them at the Chamber of Commerce, if you can't find them anywhere else. I just called all the farmers who had chickens until I found one who had what I was looking for. Also, have you checked out the pens at Western Farm Supply? They sometimes have them. Give them a call, I've found them to be very helpful.
