Our Inauguration, proclaims Arianna, Huff Post

And I say – so wonderful it’s scary!
So different it’s the same – so
Significant we don’t know what to think?

Recall days after George the 2nd came into
Office I was scared to say my peace in
MY office, that conservative place where
I earned a steady paycheck as a temp.
And knew many around me voted Republican
And wanted to hear not from me.
Scared I was to be myself and angry I could not.

So now women and some men are crying
With delight because the New Guy is sweet
And smart and reassuring and we hope with
Him that there is hope for us all.
That we can be a democracy with all the goods
And services that guarantees during good years
And all the hard community service that goes with
FACING GLOBAL ECONOMIC MELTDOWN AND
CLIMATE CRISIS…

Young writers in Oakland wonder if they will now
Somehow be safe from police bullets or their own.

And I listen to the BBC and hope England knows more
Than we do because they are leading the way toward a
National bank.

Wow, wow, wow…re-watch the concert, the speech, reactions
And start all over again to understanding our global humanity
And how we can start small here to create a sustainable local
Economy in this still beautiful Petaluma.

Yo Yo Ma, Itzak Pearlman, the others, the Kenyan choir,
Aretha Franklin and the Hat, foolish George leaving, Cheney
In a chair, Teddy Kennedy, collapsed, is taken away by
Ambulance, but he made it to the inauguration!

Begin again the work of remaking America. - Obama

O brave new world with such people in it. – from Shakespeare’s Tempest

And now for our Petaluma Big Tent Potluck at the Phoenix,
Caring for the Phoenix, The Kitchen, Mentor Me kids, Cinnabar Theater,
Our new Arts Center, the good pedestrian life downtown.
Can we create a community center that looks like one on the Eastside?
Let’s meet up at Aqus Cafe' and talk it all over…
