NYC housing connection?

HI,

My 28-year-old son has to vacate where he is living in the West Village and would appreciate any help any of you could provide for reliable sources of information, or actual contacts that know of long-term rental 1-bedroom apartments/studios for one man, no pets, nonsmoker, gainfully employed, in southern (lower) Manhattan....??? Price range to be under $1300, if possible, and no "roach motels." He has to move by April 1 or so.
