I am getting kinda scared...I work in manufacturing and things are not looking so good. We have no new jobs in house and so that doesn't bode well for next months' income. (let alone payroll.)

Is anyone else having difficulty in their businesses? Is the devistating economy catching up with anyone else? How is it affecting you?

I hope I have a job. I don't know what my boss is planning. If I lose this job, I don't know what I am going to do. If I lose this job I lose my home. I will also no longer be able to be apart of WACCO-BB.
I have nothing saved. I still have to pay for my car...(parts)

I am venting but also curious about the situation of others?
What's happening out there?:hmmm::hmmm::hmmm:

I am blessed! The economy has wiggled at me a bit but mostly everything is marvelous!

I have a group of a few employed/financially stable people who help me hold the vision of prosperity and to them I give the greatest coodos! We hold the constant intention of stability, financial success and demand for our services. It's worked whether as a placebo or in truth I never care.

I did take the precaution of increasing my personal networking and self marketing just to buffer. My personal web pages are being updated and re-worded. I am advertising consistantly and communicating with the network daily for 15-20 minutes every 3-4 hours. Since I don't need the incoming positions my friends often take the positions that I can't take/don't want. I see social networking as a way to make sure I am connected to people who think of me first for openings and trust that if I send someone in my stead the person will do a great job!

I have been broadening my skills and re familiarizing with old skills. So I have a lot of versatility and flexibility to bring to the contract table.

I follow Using the Social Web to Find Work - The Seed (https://sebastopol.ning.com/forum/topics/using-the-social-web-to-find) Chris Brogans ebook on Social Networking and the Emerging Job Market.

If you need a place to blog but aren't ready for the big boys yet and do not want to get hit by attacks/discention I encourage you to use The Seed (https://www.theseed.us). I like The Seed (https://www.theseed.us) becasue when you are ready you can simply share the blog out onto the net easy peasy. I have not good at blogging but I am trying! And yes it's okay to simply blog and link back to someone elses with your thoughts attached.

I have set up and am starting to round up products for my Etsy account! I used website grader to make sure I am on track for my chosen positioning.

There is of course more since I have a personal marketing program for myself, my business nad my life in general.

Should you need help let me know! I do this as my profession but the local community I share with free.

I've posted in the past about the "New Job Market" here's one more that might be helpful on resumes in the new market!

I started to notice problems 2-1/2 years ago; my work is tied to construction and new development. I was doing construction staking at the time and saw the initial slowdown in housing construction when the market peaked. I personally know several people who have been laid off and heard of many more.
It still amazes me to hear from people who think there is nothing wrong with the economy. We have lost over 1/2 million jobs in each of the past three months. It is not so simple as to just get another job when so many jobs are disappearing. Retraining for another line of work sounds great, but there are way too many people out of work competing for too few available jobs.
Our politicians at both the state and federal level are not doing enough to help, and may in fact be making things worse by being entrenched in strict ideological positions.
Although I still have a job, my hours are greatly reduced. I am barely able to meet basic needs and obligations. I used to eat out several times a week. Now I do so less than once per week and limit it to my favorite places in the hope that they can survive. I am hopeful that the stimulus package will provide some additional work, but get angry when some politicians refer to it as "pork" and insist on tax cuts. Someone please explain to me what good is a tax cut when one has no job or income??? I'd much rather have work and a reliable income.
