I may be naive here, but would you not agree that a practicing Jew is a closet Zionist?

At the conclusion of the Yom Kippur service and the Passover Seder the words "Next Year in Jerusalem" are recited.

Given the political reality and injustices committed since 1948 keeping that part of the service intact does that not erase the difference between a practitioner of the Yom Kippur service and a Zionist, which I define as someone who advances and protects the existence of a Jewish nation, a nation of people joined by that unique mix of tribal and religious ancestry?

Thank you....information from sites like this help me to see a side of Jews worldwide who are concerned enough about how Palestinians are being treated that they protest.
My ability to sift through world events sometimes leaves me with such a limited perspective.
Couple this with reading about seemingly never ending brutal assaults on innocent people by Israel... and I tend to (as Jeff recently reminded me) lose balance.

I can understand that babaruss. It was a difficult week for me seeing so many pictures of little dead babies and bloodied children dying in their mothers' arms. The photos posted here on Wacco were the "mild" ones...

Thank you Ms Terry,
I'd like to say I'm shocked, but it has been blatantly obvious all along that Israel had no intention of ever allowing Palestine to become a state, let alone getting rid of settlers and returning land to rightful owners.
I'll be watching now to see how this revelation plays out in the political arena both in here and in Israel.
