:vote:Greetings California Democrats,

I’m running to be a 1st Assembly District Delegate to promote the Progressive Caucus slate*. I encourage all Democrats get to the meetings this weekend and vote for progressive candidates to ensure the priorities of the state party are in line with the Progressive and Enviromental caucuses.

I have room in my van for riders to the election meeting in Ukiah @ 12 this Sat. I can fit for 3 right now, 5 if needed. Please call if you’d like a ride.

Each AD District gets 12 Delegates. I have begun a list of candidates I am interested in supporting; please share your input on these, and others you know would be a smart choice. I welcome your endorsements as well.

These are the other progressive candidates I suggest supporting:
Deborah Dobish
Donald Frank
Margaret Koren
Chris Kerrigan
Gretchen Pemberton
Virginia Pohlson
Robert Bruce

Best wishes,

Colleen Fernald

Colleen Fernald - Candidate CA AD1 Delegate

I wish to bring the values I share with the Environmental Caucus and Progressive Caucus to the California Democratic Party. I am certain that our state’s economic survival is dependent on protecting our natural resources and following the slate crafted by the Progressive Caucus.

For more than 8 general and primary elections, I have held the position of Precinct Inspector. I've worked on the local, and statewide campaigns of several progressive candidates including Dennis Kucinich. I'm a member of Progressive Democrats of America.

In 2006 Primary, I ran for US Senate as a way to inspire an end the policy of pre-emptive invasions, get our troops out if Iraq, and use our tax dollars for the enormous challenges here at home, such as climate protection and infrastructure repairs.

To continue those efforts, at the 2008 convention, I worked with a team to bring important additions to the CDP platform* as follows:

World Peace and International Relations

The new Administration must bring our troops home from Iraq starting now. To this end, we support the repeal of the 2002 Authorization to Use Military Force in Iraq; oppose further appropriations except those necessary for a safe and orderly withdrawal of our troops from Iraq to begin without delay; and call for an international conference to implement a cease-fire in Iraq. This war of choice has squandered America's standing in the world and our alliances against al Qaeda, especially considering the failure to find weapons of mass destruction, the basing of decisions on cherry-picked intelligence, and the lack of proper planning and equipment for our troops.

Thank you for your consideration.
