Well D-Cat, what did we both say about him when he won and everybody else was saying what great new government he was going to bring?
Wasn't it something along the lines of: "4 more years of the exact same thing we have had since 1963?"
I call him: "OBush", because there really isn't any difference when you get down to it. The same people that pull Bush's strings, pull Obush's. The only difference is that the Bush Family IS part of the elite who actually call the shots so he has inside the loop, while Obush stays in the dark and just says what they tell him to say.
It's very funny to watch: He will say something, and then a day later deny it, and/or change his mind with this confused look on his face, like "I wish you guys would make up your minds about what I am supposed to say and do, because I'm totally confused, and I can't keep track of which way is up".
Have you listened to him lately? It's all a bunch of stuttering and stammering, and "Weeeell....", and "Uhhhhh...". It reminds me of Robin William's old imitation of Reagan when he had alzheimers, he's totally pathetic.
I really hate to be right about these things.
I wish I had been completely off base, and Obama actually was all the lies he claimed to be, but it was real obvious two years ago that he was just a phony puppet, all you had to do was look at his record, his friends, and all the people around him.
What shocks me most is how so many people were so fooled by the propaganda that was at direct odds with reality. I had hoped that Americans were not as selfish, lazy, uninformed and delusional as they apparently are.
So many people would rather believe whatever makes them feel better than the truth because they are selfish and lazy. Ignorance is bliss, and the truth is often inconvenient.

I was sure it was a joke, but it's not. Here's the proof of who Obama really is, and it's so totally sick.

True, but it's still better than here. Once you leave the cities in Australia, the government ceases to have a strong influence, and the only laws left are the most basic: Don't steal, don't kill etc. Big brother doesn't care about much except Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra.
This leaves the smaller cities and towns to rule themselves with common decency, and the average Australian is a pretty decent chap. Once you "go off the grid", they leave you alone for the simple reason that they would come against the millions of other people who have done the same thing. For example: If you were to get arrested in say Alice Springs, or Cairns (which takes a bit of doing), the only reason they would extradite you for a warrant to Sydney would be a very serious crime such as rape or murder.
There are two Australias, and there always have been, you have the cities, which are the windows on the rest of the World, and you have everything else, and except for trade between the two Worlds, they don't have much to do with each other. In that respect, it's much like America pre Civil War.
If you go into a Chemists Shoppe (Pharmacy) out side of the big cities, you will find all kinds of prescription drugs available over the counter. I was in a mining town and asked one pharmacists about the Codeine they had for sale, and he remarked that the average bloke often didn't want to go to the doctor, and needed medicine when he needed it. I asked him if that didn't cause problems with addiction, and he told me that yes, there were several addicts in town, but the functioned just fine, so why make their life miserable for no particular reason than a law that somebody enacted for no better reason than to make people feel more respectable. Codeine is by the way, is available over the counter everywhere in Australia as a compound with acetominiphen in 10mg tablets, in boxes as big as 96 count. so if somebody can just take a handful of over the counter pills to get off, why bother. They do ask you if you have any allergy for things like Penecillin, just to make sure you don't poison yourself, but otherwise, they assume that the person is responsible for themself.
That's my biggest problem with America, everybody wants somebody else to be responsible for them, and the goverment is only too happy to do that, but it comes at the price of freedom. I can think of nothing sillier than seeing guys on Harleys ride around with those silly little helmets that are basically ineffective. Why must the people of the State be responsible for some guy that wants to ride around on his chopper with the wind in his hair? "But it saves lives", yeah it would save a lot more lives if everyone was required to wear a Kevlar/Nomex suit and a full face helmet in their car.
The laws we have are for the most part, ridiculous. Drugs are illegal, but the drug alcohol is not, but only if you are over age 21. What? Didn't we prove this doesn't work back in 1933? Hey if people want to go make a mess of their lives, let them. The money we spend on trying to enforce these silly laws could be better spent on treatment for those who really do want to stop, and if you took away the money, the gangs would have to go back to actually working for a living, and they would become ineffectual.
Yep, we have silly laws like that, that we enforce, but when it comes to illegal immigration, something that really hurts the country and causes the taxpayers billions and billions, we turn a blind eye. Yeah, that makes sense, lets arrest some guy for selling some weed, but hey, Mexicans who come up here, massively abuse every part of our social system that they can, don 't pay taxes, send most of their money home, cause accidents because they never learned to drive, clog up our jails and prisons, form huge gangs to victimize the populace, and try to have anchor babies on the taxpayers dime, etc. etc., well let's not do anything against them, because if we did then little Jimmy might have to give up his video games and internet porn, and actuall get a job at a fast food place, or do construction labor in the summer and learn how to be responsible.
Anyway, I can go on for hours and hours with more examples of flat out stupidity that we allow our government to perpretrate against us because nobody wants to be responsible for their own actions.
I know you agree with me d-Cat, but hopefully some other people will read this and think: "Oh my God, my dear beloved Democratic party initiated all those idiotic laws that I hate, what can I do to stop them"???

In his first few days in office, Mr Obama was lauded for rejecting policies of the George W Bush era, but it has emerged the CIA still has the authority to carry out renditions in which suspects are picked up and often sent to a third country for questioning.

This just plain frightens me that he is ram-rodding this crap through. Bet that he will have to ask for a couple trillion more by the end of the year, and none of it will do anything but dig a deeper hole and give us a bigger government. All just so he can pay back all of his sponsors and handlers.
If this passes (Which it will), I don't see economic recovery for at least ten years, maybe longer.
For all the massive spending that happened from 1932 to 1941, FDR only improved unemployment by 2%, it was the war that saved his ass and made him a hero to the ignorant sheeple, and stuck us with social programs that we have never been able to afford. The very same social programs that have caused this mess we are in right now.
Now that the bill of the New Deal has finally come due, and what does Obama propose? More spending, so that it doesn't crash on his watch.
He is wrong however, it is going to crash while he is in office, and he will leave with an approval rating so low that makes Bush look like a National hero
