POSTING FOR MY FRIEND:
Blackie was an abandoned cat who came starving to our yard a few months ago. I let him live on the deck and made a blanketed bed in a huge basket for him. Took him to the Vet and they gave him worm medicine. Other than that, he's healthy. Drinks a lot of water though.

I will have him vaccinated soon---to be safe.

He's devilish, rebellious, goes in and out a lot. More like a game. Blackie is all black with big, curious eyes. He's between 5 - 7 years old. He charmed his way into my home. He's good at getting what he wants. But I realized that I'm allergic to him. The shelters are overcrowded and he badly needs a home.

PLEASE SEND THIS TO YOUR GROUP EMAIL.
If anyone wants to adopt a cat they can call me, Annie, at 579-8055 (home-office).

Thanks so much.

Perhaps you might like to try another approach. I just read that cats fed a raw diet do not have the same dander that cats fed a conventional diet have. People who have allergies to cats do not react in the traditional way (sneezing, watering eyes, etc). Why not try feeding a raw diet for a couple of weeks and see if your health improves. Certainly worth a try, and as you pointed out, our shelters are full. A black cat has little chance of being adopted.

Also, if Blackie is drinking a lot of water, he may have a thyroid problem, easily treated with a daily tablet.
