Anybody good with orchids? Mine needs help--I think I'm killing it through ignorance. It looks like it's outgrown its pot, and has been growing progressively more sideways. Hasn't flowered in years. Used to push out a couple new leaves a year, but not doing that anymore, either. Any suggestions? I'd rather not give up on it.:hmmm:

Sounds like the poor plant needs to be repotted. Also, are you feeding it regularaly? Orchids need food every time you water them.

I agree that it sounds like it needs repotting and frequent feeding. The rule I learned about orchid watering is "Weekly, weakly."

The Sonoma County Orchid Society is having its annual show, sale and workshops on Saturday and Sunday, February 7 & 8 at the Santa Rosa Veterans Building. I often go to attend the workshops or to buy an orchid in addition to seeing fantastic specimens grown locally. Their advertising says their website is Sonoma County Orchid Society (https://www.sonomaorchids.com).

Happy growing, and may you be blessed with blooms.

? I'd have to see it...what are u growing it in? Soil..bark.. sand? Are you feeding it plant food? Where did u get it.. ? Honestly, there are a ton of factors that could be causing you grief. I'd start with the basics.........ph water, no direct/ intense sunlight, 1/2 strength 30/10/10 or Nutricote tablets, once a month 2tbs of Epsom per gal of h20, hardwater stabilizer? Hope this helped, good luck. :):
