anyone interested in in-line skating, starting most often from the bike path near frizelle enos? i am aware there are other nice spots, but one must start somewhere :)
i am in decent shape, but by no means, an athlete.

tried it in an empty parking lot south of Andy's market, still can't remember how to stop but did have a good hour long visit by cell phone while I practiced gliding and didn't fall once.
love how it feels
I'll look online for inline skating hints for that stopping maneuver.

Hi, If you have the brake in back of you right skate you need to slowly raise the toe area of the skate. Start out really slow or you will end up right on your back with possible head injuries if you are not wearing a helmet.
So slowly raise the toe area until you feel the brake touching the ground
then you put more pressure on the brake by raising the toe area. Keep your left skate on the ground.
If you are in danger of falling head for a grassy area.
The best advice to give you while rollerblading is keep your knees bent, it is when people straighten up they fall. Don't forget to look up.
The best way to learn is to go to Cal Skate in Rohnert park (check out their website for hours) for a couple of times to practice the stopping and get your balance. Then try the outdoors.
The other dangers are rocks, slippery leaves, dogs, and wet pavement. If you can avoid all of those you should be fine.
Maybe a group of us could meet at Cal Skate, HTH Missy

right now i am trying to visualize how losing my wallet could be a good thing,
in the meantime I am looking everywhere for it, did buy gas yesterday but then went lots of places...
just checked online as my e-mail is in it, so back to ripping the car apart.

i have 4 wheel skates. i used to skate a lot on Sawyer Camp trail in San Mateo, near Crystal Springs reservoir. it's a paved 6 mile trail with a downhill section that's about 1 1/2 miles long.
