The recent story in the Press Democrat describing how a mob of bargain seekers trampled a Walmart worker to death and proceeded to shop as fast as they could is a truly sad commentary on our present Culture. In the Edititorial letters in the same paper people are expressing their outrage at a photo of a gay male couple kissing...they think it's digusting and don't want their children to see such a thing. Are these the same parents waiting to storm the stores and trample others during big sales to buy their children the toys and gadgets they want for Christmas?

It's alluring to think that these are the same kind of people but they may have as little in common than that they are different from you.

The people who shudder when they see same-sex kissing may be frugal and never indulge or buy on credit.

I do find it interesting, and sad, that there have been more letters regarding disgust at two men kissing than ones expressing disgust about a human being getting trampled to death for the sake of who gets more stuff cheaper. Do more people consider it important that their children not be exposed to homosexual shows of affection than be taught that a human life is more important than the quest for bargain "stuff"?
