Bring your dd214 if you are a vet, you get a 5 point advantage. There is also a practice test here -

and be careful of questions with apparently easy answers, there are some trick questions.

I applied and took the test in April but didn't have a car so I wasn't hired. It was also apparently necessary at the time to work full time which I didn't want to do because it's the busiest time of the year for my own business www.handsonsnakes.com (https://www.handsonsnakes.com)
I'm wondering if they are hiring office people now........got info?

Dec: I heard that everything pretty nearly shut down after the project in the spring. The next project of any significance won't start until next spring. Keep in mind, Census jobs are short term, temporary jobs (that *might* be renewed if needed, 8 weeks at a time).
If your circumstances have changed (car, ability to work full time, etc.), you might try to reach them and update your data. That's what I'd do if I were you.
As to any openings sooner, if all the folks who worked with them *before* aren't available (those that know the work, & have relationships), they'll start digging into the files of other applicants.
The bottom line, those jobs aren't something to count on, long term. It's enjoyable work to some, and they do well, not for everyone.
Good luck in finding the right opportunity for you!
