FOUND DOG in Santa Rosa

A black dog was found wandering around traffic on 4th St. this morning around 11 am. He tried to climb into a stopped car, at which point we were able to take him by the collar and lead him to safety. He is very sweet and frightened. He is currently with the owner of Fleet Feet. Her name is Rhonda and her phone # 707/569-1494. Rhonda is desperate to find a temporary place for this dog to stay until we can find his owner (probably another Foreclosure Pet) or find him another home. She cannot take the dog home with her tonight as she lives in an apartment.

If anyone knows of someone who has lost their black dog, please have them call Rhonda. And, if someone can foster this dog (he appears to be a house dog from the appearance of his nails) please contact Rhonda. He does not stand a chance of being adopted if he ends up in an animal shelter.

Thank goodness for microchips! The dog was reunited with his owners today after the chip was read at a Santa Rosa veterinarian office. We have gently suggested that the owners also add a tag to the collar, as the dog would have been home yesterday if we could have found the owner quickly. The dog came from several miles away. How he got to where he was picked up is a mystery to all. No mind, he is safe!
