I love the "Add This" button that is on so many web sites.

Why hasn't it been added to Wacco?

Wow, that's a good idea Shelly!
Thanks for bringing it to the community's attention, and probably to the attention of those who would have a role in actually incorporating it into the site...
I do, however, take some umbrage at the somewhat accusatory tone of your post... taken as a whole, it would seem to imply that simply because you love something, it should be added to a site you are a member of?
I don't think that's your actual intent, yet it might behoove us to all be aware of the nuances of communication in this limited medium.

P.S., I have an inkling that just such a button may be available in a soon to be implemented software upgrade.

Hmmm I think it would have been better to ask me the intentioned tone. But that's okay.
There are other buttons out there like "share this" that also do the same thing.
They have been around for years. nice though that the long awaited upgrade may actually have it.
During this economic down turn and everyone including Wacco wanting to be on the top of Google well . . . this is how it's done.
Marketing in the new millennium/era.
Wow, that's a good idea Shelly!

I love fresh blueberry pancakes. Could you please integrate them into the site as well?

Just saying . . . I feel a need to speak my truth.
I have had several conversations with Barry regarding why I left Waccobb as a moderator. This thread highlights the main issue.
I feel I need to speak openly and honestly about my feelings.
I started this thread a few days ago and Royce answered and a few more answered but the person who I posted with intention of getting an answer from has not. I posted this to feedback to hear from Barry or Richard neither has posted or sent an email.
Delayed and most often non response was a major contributor to my feeling ineffective, unheard, and unappreciated as a Waccobb moderator and was the major cause of my deciding to seek healthier streams for my personal energy.
When someone takes time to leave feedback it would be nice for a basic acknowledgment to be made.
Now this lack of response from Barry does not feel good.
When ones ideas, thoughts and feedback are not recognized or even acknowledged within a forum that promotes conscious community the is created a feeling that the awareness and consciousness so promoted is dammed or non existent. When this feedback is about networking and business promotion again within a community where such concepts are supposedly being embraced and marketed it feels non beneficial. It also seems like this creates some nonprofitable karma.
Thanks for listening to my truth.

Oh and by the way my programmer can "Add This" or "Share This" to any site in less than 30 minutes.
With "Add This" and "Share This" you can promote things like events, blogs and even Ebay listings quickly across several channels from FaceBook to MySpace to Twitter and far far beyond.
So all those who asked how to use FaceBook andMySpace to market your business. This is how we do it!
Look for a posting about an ebook, class explaining and even walking you through it in about a week.
Sadly at this point Waccobb will not be an engine for that.

I hear you.
I must say I found your original post about the "add this" button rather accusatory ("Why hasn't it been added to Wacco?"). Perhaps you were not conscious of this.
Juggledude/Royce responded to your post, including that it "may be available in a soon to be implemented software upgrade" and I showed my acknowledgment and agreement by registering my gratitude to his post.
I suppose I could have commented more, but I really don't have anything else to add.
A simple " Hey, I found a cool little thing. How about including it?" would have gotten a quick simple acknowledgment.

Hmmm maybe it is sounds accusatory to you based on I have asked you about this 2 or 3 times prior without response. If it sounds that way to others I apologize wasn't my intention but again had you asked intentions you would have known that.
I am used to "you" controlling the board based on your goals/values which I have never been privy to.
I hope your update comes out quickly and has all the features that will enable Wacco to be a valued vehicle for marketing.

As I mentioned before, your original post sounded accusatory to me, without any prior communication and from what I think is a fairly objective place...
As I mentioned before, the subtle nuance of direct communication is lessened by the the nature of online communication, and you may find that you get the results you are looking for more consistently when you are more aware of the myriad possible interpretations of your brevity.
In my experience, most websites, companies or other ventures are generally controlled by the goals and values of their owners. Also, in my experience, Barry has been very willing to share his goals, values and even dreams, when asked. Perhaps your experience is different.
The implication that somehow Wacco is not currently a valued marketing vehicle would seem to be belied by the obvious support of the business community as well as the hundreds of happy folks who have made connections here. The implication also serves, in this limited nuance venue, to offer a possible interpretation of your words as returning to the accusatory stance you seem to be portraying rather consistently.
Is that your intention?
Royce

Thank you for your thoughts. I'll try to answer. No Royce my experience has not been the same as yours on any level regarding Barry. But this has to move past Barry to community and intentions so off we fly!
My intention is to use social networking (I think Wacco qualifies) to move business forward.
Notice though I didn't say "my" business. It's not about the "my" or the "your" it's about "us".
"Add This" creates a different type of vehicle as does "Share This". It creates the type of vehicle that moves businesses to the top of Google quickly.
I see ads on Wacco. But I also have to ask "How effective are the ads on Wacco?" But that takes me to "What are the purpose of the ads on Wacco?" When a business places an ad its usually with intention. You may think that intention is obvious "that it's to sell a product" but that may not be true. Some may want to actually use Wacco to move their info to a greater mass beyond our tribe/culture. And many may have desires that range between the two ends.
In this economy moving "us" forward is critical. The "us" is the tribe that is Wacco or potentially Sebastopol or even Sonoma. The "us" takes networking.
Within Wacco there are additional tribes each with their own culture.
There is more, I'll be glad to share just email me.
