Barry, what part of this boondoggle sounds like a good idea to you?

The fact that the whole of power is put in the hands of the Democrat and Republican parties?

The fact that the commission established by this is unelected and unaccountable to the voters?

The fact the taxpayers will have to pay for two different methods of redistricting every time it's done? And who will mediate differences between the two different methods? The courts? How much will that cost?

This looks like one more power grab by the Dems and the Repubs to me and all at substantial taxpayer expense. Oh, and the lawyers: they'll love this one because of all the extra work this will generate for them.

This is a costly loser for the people of California.

Vote no on Prop 11. I'm not sure what the solution to redistricting is, but I do know that any redistricting plan that's partisan in nature in ANY way will automatically result in gerrymandering. IMO, we need to go completely back to the drawing board on drawing districts in California.
