The Sonoma County Wildlife Habitat Project (under the guidelines of the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) Community Habitat Program) is in need of volunteers for help to promote the goals of establishing 500 wildlife habitat sites in Sonoma County (We have already been successful in establishing over 200 so far in less than a year and a half). Help is needed in doing office work, fundraising, grant writing, helping with booths and presentations, training to be NWF volunteers, and talking with your neighbors/friends about becoming involved. Each year in the summer we hope to have a celebration picnic gathering together those who are caretakers or owners of established sites and for those who potentially might want to have their homes, businesses, or schools involved as wildlife habitat sites. We also hope to branch out into larger stream, river, and tributary revitalization projects as grants open to us to develop. What started as one backyard became a county-wide project. Volunteers are needed to help in the overall program. If you would like to be involved in making your own home, business or school into a NWF Wildlife Habitat check out https://www.nwf.org and follow the links to Backyard Habitat. It is a SIMPLE process and fun to do!

The Sanctuary of Peace Children's Garden Project is in need to Garden site volunteers who will pick up and take out to children's garden sites plants, soil, seeds, and gardening wisdom. This project's goal is to enable children, through giving them the tools, to learn how to do organic gardens. Last year , in its first year, our volunteers gave out many truckloads of plants and other soil amendments to several different sites where children are being taught to organic garden. The sites we go to are also in the process of becoming NWF Wildlife Habitat sites process. "The Forestville Joyful Living Center" is looking for thick long 5/8 inch rubber hoses and truckloads of clean topsoil for "The Sanctuary of Peace Children's Garden Project". Donations in the form of these hoses, topsoil, or money for these particular need would be greatly appreciated!

The Forestville Naturally Fun Faire and Farmers Market beginning in May 2006 on Wednesday evenings in downtown Forestville is right now it in need to volunteer organizers to help to format the establishment of a new event in downtown Forestville. TFJLC is, as a 501 (c) (4) promoting the educational aspect of this event with speakers on various natural health modalities at each event. Speakers who are comfortable sharing in this type of forum are welcome to apply.

Celebrating Joy is an associated business that was formed to support the overall Forestville Joyful Living Center's Naturally Fun Faire and Farmers Market. This Faire is in need to volunteers to help design the layout, format the final paperwork, and overall preparation of the site including layout of the parking lot and other things as they develop. We are also looking for people to have booths there such as: local produce vendors, natural health practitioners, natural health products, children's natural health booths, and craftspeople whose work portrays natural health. We will also be needing help with volunteers to arrange for appropriate volunteer musicians who will play music for this event. The purpose of this event is to bring healthy living modalities to this unincorporated area, to establish a wholesome culture, and to help to foster new job possibilities as this town develops.
