I would like to get my cat to ingest garlic and other good herbs, but--could anyone tell me how?
Thanks, Hearthstone.

Maybe your kitty knows garlic isn't good for him!
I knew garlic and onions weren't so good for dogs, but apparently garlic can cause anemia in cats:

Hey Dr. Paula, what do you think?

Yes, garlic very bad for cats. Dogs and cats have a slightly different physiology than we do Hearthstone, so be careful about getting too creative with herbal remedies with them. Chocolate, of course, can kill dogs.

Google this subject....there's lots out there...just try cats "herbal remedies" here's a sample site....lots of cat forums out there too.

I "googled" before I posted--a lot of sites *do*, in fact, recommend garlic (not in truckloads, to be accurate, tho') ...

... of course, my cat knows better than me what's good for her, but she won't tell me ...

Thnx, H.S.

Many of the higher end, "raw" kibble and such, foods for both cats and dogs, contain garlic. My cat is very finicky and enjoys "evo" brand crunchies, as does the less finicky dog. Mindy

Cats are carnivores. Their digestive systems are set to eat meat. I would be extremely careful about feeding herbal products to cats without consulting an actual veterinarian that you know and trust.

I would definitely not follow such advice after an Internet search without consulting a vet first.

As far as how to get a cat to take small quantities of any substance I would use the same advice as is given on how to give a cat pills. Here I would do a google search and find some good advice.

Generally I know that cats have extremely sensitive digestive tracts. They are prone to kidney and liver failures / problems.
