Michael Pollan (author of Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food and many more) writes a brilliant letter to the President-Elect about Food Issues that we face today. In my opinion, this is extremely intelligent and well-researched writing about our current food dilemmas and their effect upon the human population as well as the environment.
With today being World Food Day (https://www.voanews.com/english/Science/2008-10-16-voa57.cfm) and with researchers noting that over 900 million people face major hunger issues, there could not be a better time for Mr. Pollan to publish this article.
I hope you take the time to read this letter (https://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/12/magazine/12policy-t.html?_r=4&ref=magazine&oref=slogin&oref=slogin&oref=slogin&oref=slogin)--even if you don't call yourself an environmentally conscious person.
