Why Probiotics?

Believe it or not, we do carry bacteria in our bodies! A probiotic is the name used for the friendly bacteria, over 500 different kinds, that reside mainly in our bodies. They are found in abundant quantities in raw foods, but when foods are heated through cooking or processing, they are destroyed. In a diet low in raw foods, these necessary bacteria must be replaced. Lactobacillus, a type of acidolphilus, lives mainly in the small intestines. Its job is to keep the intestinal walls healthy where over 70% of the immune producing cells are located. Bifidobacteria lives primarily in the large intestine. This bacteria helps the detoxification process by reducing the risk of bad yeast overgrowth (candida) causing gas, constipation, diarrhea and other bowel problems.
Probiotics perform important functions in the body. They produce enzymes necessary for digestion and increase the manufacture of B vitamins. They also help in the following ways:
- Help eliminate harmful viruses, yeast and bacteria
- Prevent diarrhea, bloating, gas and constipation
- Support healthy immune function
- Help keep skin healthy
- Help prevent children's and traveller's diarrhea
We lose our good bacteria with the use of antibiotics, steroids, chlorinated tap water, birth control pills and other hormones, stress, antacids and processed, sugar-filled, low fiber foods. Without a normal amount of these bacteria in our bodies we can develop candida and jock itch, leaky gut, immune, allergy and skin problems.
Because it takes two years for a child's normal immune system to fully develop, infants and toddlers are more susceptible to viruses and infections, especially diarrhea. Research has shown that having a lot of good bacteria from birth helps reduce the development of skin rashes in infants and reduces later allergies, and possibly asthma.
Probiotics change during our life cycle and the amount needed increases with age. Supplementing with a probiotic blend properly formulated to age and health condition will help to ensure the continued health of the digestive and immune system.
So regardless of your age, or if you have a yeast issue, digestive problems, skin rashes, a world traveler, or just a health-conscious individual looking to enhance your immune system, there is a probiotic formula for you.

You are probably still wondering huh...:xtrmlaugh:
