Here's a great rant on the new-age The Secret make-a-buck crowd:

I expect at least Dixon will appreciate it!

Well, the problem is....

"The Secret" does work to a degree.....

but there is a deception factor....

and more than anything else, people are just too f*ing lazy and/or too entrenched in skepticism to examine

CAREFULLY.....

just how and to what extent and maybe why...it does work..

SOMETIMES....

I've encouraged the Wacco community several times to examine this issue very carefully.....and see if we as a collective group mind resource could really determine what
the truth of it all is....

but this does not seem to be a collective possibility...

Life is complex....

I watched a very interesting show on C-Span yesterday with three very experienced military icons discussing the correct future strategy of Iraq....all three made compelling arguments in their own way...

Sometimes the choices we make are based purely on emotional bias...

Our hard world political systems ultimately fail and baffle us consistently......we can't even agree on a simple thing like generating our energy needs....

Why should we expect the tools we take into our inner world to be any more consistent or effective?

So let us bow our heads......and rant.

You mean like half the members of Wacco?

You're right. I always enjoy seeing unctuous, smarmy hucksters, New Age or otherwise, getting skewered. Thanks for sharing it.

And the really beautiful thing is that proponents of the grandiosely-named "The Secret", as well as the similar "Law of Attraction", can't complain about any skewering they receive, because if they believe their own twaddle, they must conclude that they created the skewering they're receiving with their own thoughts.

Blessings!

Dixon
