Rather than fearing death, Buddhism regards the process of dying as an opportunity to realize the nature of mind and attain liberation. Lama Zik presents the meditative teachings of the Tibetan traditions of death and dying as a way to make the most of our death, and to live our life intelligently and fearlessly.

Victoria Whitehand is a lama of the Shagpa Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, and is resident lama at a meditation center in Sebastopol.

These teachings can make it less of a "bummer" and provide us with some alternatives to living in fear of it.
