Hello, I'm just finding out I have ADD and am wondering if there are any local Adult Attention Deficit Disorder support groups or resources available locally.

The local CHADD group meets monthly in Santa Rosa and occasionally has other activities. For info, contact Pauline Laurent at [email protected]

Also, if you don't mind the 12-step thang, Debtors Anonymous can be helpful with ADD stuff, even if debt isn't your main issue. Info on DA meetings in Santa Rosa (the only local town for which I found listings) is at: https://www.ncdaweb.org/SantaRosa.html

I believe Kaiser also has some kind of education/support for coping with ADD. Dr. Welch is the local Kaiser expert on ADD, though you probably needn't go through him to get info re: their ADD-related services.

Hang in there, my friend; there is hope and support!

The local CHADD group is a support group for adults and children alike. Contact Pauline Laurent for more information: 707-578-4226

In my homeopathic practice, I treat adults and children with ADD/ADHD by first clearing the body of heavy metals via an oral chelator and then recommending the constitutional homeopathic remedy for that person. The results using this method have been very good.

Lastly, CHADD will be hosting an event in September -- Health Fair ADHD Awareness Day -- in Santa Rosa which will showcase their support group, as well as offer an opportunity to meet various practitioners who may be of interest to you. I'll have a table at this event. Again, speak with Pauline to find out more.

Blessings,

Hello,
I support the other comments on seeking a support group. Recently, I spoke at the Santa Rosa CHADD group regarding the challenges of people with AD/HD and getting organized. Pauline Laurent is the coordinator and the group is very supportive of each other.
At this meeting, I presented the basics of organizing and how it can be addapted for use by people with focus, distractibility, time management and other ADD challenges.
If you would like more information on the CHADD group or my services, I would be very glad to speak with you.
