At 9:30AM, I will have the pleasure of Anne Pierce the Executive Director and founder of Grandparents Parenting...Again.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

"Grandparents Parenting...Again is a non-profit that strives to support relative caregivers in their effort to care for and protect children at risk."<o:p></o:p>

There is a growing trend in our country, just when we are looking forward to having time to do all those things we planed to do after the children are grown and out of the house. <o:p></o:p>

In the most recent Census Bureau statistics, 2.4 million of the nation's families are maintained by grandparents who have one or more of their grandchildren living with them--an increase of 400,000 (19 percent) since 1990. These families comprise 7 percent of all families with children under 18.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
When relatives begin caring for a child, they take on the traumas of the child at the same time they are dealing with their own responses to the new arrangement. Many of them are not aware of the legal and social factors that will influence their ability to raise their children. "Grandparents Parenting...Again offer many programs to help educate and support relatives to deal with these and many other issues. <o:p></o:p>
