Found this among my things...Em's been gone for almost five years.

Life here gets to moving a bit when Em pulls in from work.

Misty, and Tipper, hit the gate, tails wagging, making happy

sounds. The cockatiel screams for her attention while I pull

a chilled glass out of the freezer, and pour her wine.

Not more than seconds through the door, and she has

rolled her pantyhose, and panties, down off of her hips,

and into tight ball, tossing them aside like the peel of an

exotic fruit. A sip from her glass and straight for the shower,

to wash her work away.

Misty automatically wanders over and curls up in front of

the bathroom door, creating something to trip over when

she comes back out. Becoming something to guard against

rather than the other way around.

Emmy makes an appearance wearing a t-shirt big enough for us

both to wear ...a big towel is wrapped around her wet hair.

With glass in hand, she settles onto the couch to take a quick

look at the mail, before starting to tell me about her day.

Unwinding, and coming together again at the end of the day is

a habit we’ve both learned to enjoy...I listen she talks,

(it hasn’t always been that way).

Cockatiel perches on my shoulder, hissing, and biting, every

time I move, or nod my head. Starling perches on my head

and tugs at strands of hair...’hey be careful what you do up

there’. This dull-colored bird is showing the beginnings of a

black and white spotted vest.

Emmy checks the computer to see if there’s any mail. I hope

she has some, ‘cause I feel a bit uneasy if it’s all for me'.

Together we spot something new outside the window, just beyond

the computer screen.

A baby dove has discovered the safety of our back porch, and

has made her elf at home.

Who knows, maybe she'll soon join us and one day

we'll all sit together at the end of

the day to help Em unwind.
